Digital Addiction

digital_addiction1

There’s no denying it- we are living in the digital age! Even here at Blunt Radio, we are spread across various platforms- facebook, twitter, even soundcloud. But when does a habit become an obsession, and when does an obsession become an addiction? And which generation is the most addicted?

Hosts Aidan Richman and Ansel Knight will be deconstructing the topic on the air. The first half will feature Dr. Larry Rosen, who is the Professor Emeritus at California State University Dominguez Hills, and the author of several books including the Distracted Mind: Ancient Brains in a High-Tech World. On the second half, they will be speaking to Tanya Schevitz, who is a communications manager with the Rebooters- a nonprofit that is known for the national day of “unplugging”. Tune in to Blunt Youth Radio tonight from 7:30-8:30pm EST on 90.9fm & 104.1fm (WMPG)!!

Drug Use in Academia

Tonight on Blunt Youth Radio, hosts Peter Mazjanis and Jenni Nguyen discuss the intersection of drugs and academics- what they are, how they help, and how they hurt. To unpack this with us, tonight’s hosts will be speaking with Allie Strickler, a Journalist at Elite Daily, and Alan DeSantis, Professor of Communications at University of Kentucky. Between statistics and stories, the show tonight is sure to be a thought-provoking one! Be sure to tune in tonight at 7:30pm on WMPG FM (90.9 & 104.1) and/or stream the show at WMPG.org

Art and Activism

At what point do art and activism intertwine? Is activist/protest art important or overdone? Is art as effective as active protests?

Join your hosts Clare Considine and Aidan Mitchell as they explore these questions and more!

In the first half, they will be speaking with local artist Pigeon, creator of the Mainer project which explored what makes a Mainer. Find more information here: http://www.pigeonnation.com/the-mainer-project/

In the second half, they will be joined by local artist Asher Woodworth, creator of the Tree performance on Congress Street this past October. Find more information here:
